Kubernetes is the leading open-source system for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications. This course introduces participants to the basic concepts and architecture of Kubernetes, its Initial install, configuration and access control, Multi-Container Pods, Observability, Pod Design, Services and Networking, and Persistent Storage in Kubernetes. Two optional modules, each 1-day long, introduce Helm the Kubernetes Package Manager as well as Istio a hot new service mesh for micro services running over Kubernetes.
The course doesn’t only prepare delegates for the daily work of Kubernetes systems as application developers but also for the official Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).

Structure: 50% theory 50% hands on lab exercises
Target audience: Application developers who want to understand and use Kubernetes at their work in cloud and data center environments.
Prerequisites: Proficiency with the Linux CLI. A broad understanding of Linux system administration. Basic knowledge of Linux containers.
